Free Education in Sri Lanka - We all benefitted and Continue to benefit.

Today, the Government is doing its' utmost towards free education.

But …

Some don't benefit.

Why?

  • Subsidised education does not cover the full cost of education.
  • Inequalities also exist within rural provincial council schools as within these areas there are rich, poor and extremely poor areas.
  • Socio-economic factors relating to the homestead play an important role in children's education.

  • Part of the supplementary costs such as school stationery, school shoes and tuition fees etc., have to be borne by families.

The Problem

1

Both schools and parents are going through difficult times.

2

Children, whose parents cannot afford to buy books and other stationery items, are unwilling to go to school.

3

Children need to have at least primary and junior secondary school education.

4

Provincial Councils don't have funds to provide all the required infrastructure.

5

At individual level poverty is a main constraint.

6

Parents are unable to buy the basic school requisites for their children.

Breaking the limits

  • You can be the proud participant, in any way you can, to provide school stationery and other school requisites to these less fortunate children; or

  • You could assist in infrastructure development of rural schools in any way you can.

Solutions

For the last 12 years we have coordinated the distribution of school requisites and built infrastructure.

Today, we work with 25 poor schools all over the country providing assistance to over 2500 children each year.

We invite you to join hands with us to share your blessings with the less-fortunate.

Make them happy!!!
